Miffy's History Adventures
Miffy History Adventures is an interactive mobile application designed to make learning about history fun, engaging, and accessible for children aged 4 to 12. Featuring the beloved character Miffy as a guide, the app takes children on exciting journeys through various historical periods, events, and cultures. Through interactive storytelling, educational games, virtual tours, and exploration, children can deepen their understanding of key historical concepts and figures while having fun and enjoying the immersive experience. With a focus on interactive learning and user-friendly design, the app aims to ignite children's curiosity about the past and inspire a lifelong love for history.

Problem Statement
Many children struggle to develop an interest in history due to the lack of engaging and accessible educational resources. Traditional history lessons often fail to capture their attention, leading to disengagement and limited understanding of historical concepts. As a result, children miss out on valuable opportunities to explore and appreciate the richness of the past, hindering their overall academic development and cultural literacy.

Solution
A visual identity that is clean, minimalist, and modern, using a colour palette that evokes stability, confidence, and sophistication. An identity that evoke feelings of progress, modernity, and sustainability, while also exuding a sense of reliability and trust.

UX Research
I conducted comprehensive UX research, including colour research with WCAG contrast checks, competitor analysis, heuristic evaluations, and statistical research. Additionally, I gathered insights from survey results, developed a value proposition canvas, created wireframes, and analysed heat maps. This research, which I led, provided valuable insights that directly informed the design of the app's UI.
Additional research involved exploring the history of Miffy and her creator, Dick Bruna. This included creating mood boards, mind maps, conducting in-person research, colour studies, logo sketches, and inspiration boards.
Result
After completing the UX research, the UI design was created and applied to mobile phone mockups. These were then showcased on the Norwich University of the Arts Grad Fest 2024 prototype machine and displayed on large format printed posters for visitors to view at the exhibition.
